Stalling and Overtime Procedures

As we get further into the Post-Season, officials will be faced with facilitating Stalling and Overtime procedures.

It is imperative that you understand each part of the process.

Do not inject yourself into the match, unless absolutely necessary.

Remember, the Ultimate Tie Breaker is a different procedure with regard to stalling.

Here is a great video for the Ultimate Tie Breaker

Official calls the stalemate instead of stalling as the top wrestler simply needs to ride out to win.

This call has now set up the next stalling call if necessary.

Action restarts with action and a whistle when wrestlers go OOB.

Bottom wrestler explodes out on restart and the official is justified in making the stall call as the top wrestler needs to work up.

On the restart, bottom wrestler again explodes up and the action advances to a kick out situation again, and bottom wrestler earns an escape with loss of control and wins the match.

I am fairly positive the official would have called another stall on top wrestler if the kick out had been unsuccessful.

The sportsmanship by the losing wrestler was the cherry on top!
